INTRODUCTION

The School follows the Swiss dual system and applies modern teaching methods. Students will acquire flexibly usable knowledge, develop interdisciplinary skills, and improve their problem-solving capability. Furthermore, social competence and teamwork are key qualifications that will be acquired within the scope of this training. Highly specialized Swiss Tutors mentor and support students throughout the program.

Health Care and Paramedic specialists work in hospitals, psychiatric clinics, nursing homes or care for patients at home. In their work, they not only take into account the state of health. The age, gender, biography and cultural, economic and social environment of the patients are also included. They establish a relationship of trust with the patients. This is central because Health Care and Paramedic specialists have a connecting function and act as intermediaries between further medical specialists and the patients as well as their relatives. They represent the interests of the patients and ensure an optimal exchange of information.

Health Care and Paramedic specialists carry the professional responsibility throughout the care process. They are responsible for the planning, execution, delegation and monitoring of the care measures. After obtaining detailed information about the care needs and needs of the patients, they create a care concept. In the team they carry out the care measures and control their effect and success. They closely monitor the recovery process. In the documentation, they keep up to date with the latest developments and share their knowledge of ward reports and medical visits. They are frequently confronted with challenging situations in their work: they are available to patients who are in various states of physical and mental health and accompany people when dying.

As managers in the field of health care and paramedics, they are jointly responsible for the professional development of their subordinate staff. They support and lead students during the internship. They also participate in health promotion and prevention of illnesses and accidents. They participate in research projects and political strategy development in the field of care and health. In this way, they contribute to improving the quality of care.
