General Introduction

Devanjan is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing Skills, BSDU since March 2019. He is a doctorate (2011) and M. Tech. (2007) from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in Geomatics Engineering and holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Delhi University (2004). Previously he held an invited position as Assistant Professor, GIS, in a central university in Turkey. He has held several post-doctoral fellowships in European Union projects sponsored by European Commission in Portugal, Italy and Czech Republic since 2013. He was a senior software engineer at Sasken Bangalore. 


Specialization

His research is in the areas of geospatial technologies for smarter cities, geo-semantic sensor web and IoT, GIS, remote sensing satellite image processing, knowledge based expert systems, spatial intelligence and allied topics from information technology. He intends to start geoinformatics centered analytics and computing skills in BSDU based on advanced software systems, developing instructive medium and research on such topics.

Two full-time PhD positions with institute funding would be available soon.
